Metamaterials Scientist

We are looking for someone who will:

  • Develop and run numerical models of metamaterial-based devices
  • Develop and implement optimisation strategies
  • Perform proof-of-concept numerical experiments for innovative technologies
  • Design metamaterial-based components towards specific engineering requirements

Must have

  • Strong background in metamaterial research / electromagnetism
  • PhD in Physics / Electrical Engineering
  • Understanding and willingness to work in a Start-up environment.

Candidate’s background

The candidate should have good understanding and hands-on experience in:

  • Metamaterials
  • Electromagnetism
  • Circuit Theory
  • Numerical / analytical model development
  • Python / Matlab / Linux systems

Nice to have

  • Solid-state physics
  • Keen to work in a university Spin-out
  • Experience in collaborative software development (Git)
